Start a Blog
I’ll let you in on a little secret…blogging is the “secret sauce” of my Etsy business marketing strategy! I don’t think I could have grown as much as I have without my website, which is why I encourage my audience to create a blog for their Etsy shops!
A common misconception about launching a blog is that you have to be a web designer or hire one in order to be successful. The truth is, a large portion of people using WordPress are neither web designers nor programmers. As a matter of fact, most people start using WordPress without any prior knowledge of designing websites.
The bottom line? WordPress is perfect for a variety of websites, from blogging to e-commerce to business sites!
Being self-hosted on WordPress means you will need to purchase hosting space. Now, there are a lot of hosting companies, so how do you know which hosting company to go with?
As a beginner, I’d suggest you stick with something easy to use, set up, and manage, that’s also not very expensive. And with these things in mind, I suggest going with my favorite hosting company that caters to beginner WordPress bloggers: SiteGround.
You can never go wrong with SiteGround. You get a peace of mind knowing you are hosted on the latest speed technologies, amazingly fast customer support for those uh-uh moments, zero downtime, and top-notch security for your website.
You can’t launch your own website without a great name. Namecheap, as a leading domain registrar, offers you a wide variety of domains. Register or transfer your domain name in a snap.
Check your domain name availability to see if your choices are available. Once you’ve come up with a few strong domain candidates, plug them into Namecheap’s domain name search bar.
They will search available domain names for you and let you know if your first choice of second-level domain is available. They will also suggest some alternate names you might try if your first domain choice isn’t available.
Every website needs a gorgeous and easy-to-use theme to compliment it! After building websites for my previous businesses and other businesses, by far my most favorite platform has been the DIvi by Elegant Themes.
Every component of my website with the Divi theme is customizable with the simple drag-and-drop Divi-Builder. After playing around with the Divi theme for free, I knew instantly that I needed to invest in this in order to push my website forward.

Running a blog may seem overwhelming, but as soon as I organized my thoughts, goals, brand, schedule, and finances in one central location I was able to create a blogging system that mostly ran itself and required less work from me.
Using this blog planner has helped determine my short and long term goals, plan my blog posts months in advance, and develop a concrete plan that has helped me almost triple my blog and Etsy shop traffic within months.

Social Media Marketing
Since the beginning, Pinterest has been one of my largest traffic sources for both my blog and my Etsy shop. I’ve developed the perfect Pinterest strategy that has more than doubled the traffic coming to my Etsy shop.
Pinterest can help your business by creating eye-catching pins that draw people to click through to your Etsy shop and browse around.

TailWind (Pinterest Scheduling)
TailWind is by far my FAVORITE of all the social media scheduling platforms because it brings me the most traffic with the least amount of work. I spend about 10 minutes per week pinning my posts to TailWind and then it does all of the work by pinning to Pinterest all week long.
My favorite features is their SmartLoop tool which automatically re-pins your most important content + their analytics to determine which of your pins & boards are performing best!
Just picture scheduling HUNDREDS of pins that send throughout the week and getting THOUSANDS of people who click and engage with those pins…yupp! That’s what you get with TailWind!

Design + Photos
Creative Market is my go-to for fonts, design elements, stock photos, webinar slides, and those fancy desktop + laptop mockups. Plus, they have a HUGE selection so you’ll always walk away with something that can elevate your business.
I always find what I need AND they have fantastic freebies every week too.

Ivory Mix (Photos)
Photos are ESSENTIAL to getting your branding across the board: Pinterest pins, blog photos, Etsy branding, Instagram photos, marketing…literally everything!
I found myself using free stock photos from Unsplash, which is a great site, but more often than not I would run into a business that was using the exact same photos as I was. This completely kills the mood and can even confuse my audience if they run across my competitors photos and think that its me! Yikes!
After investing in paid photos that are unique and less competitive, I’ve fallen in love with my brand again and I know my audience has too.
My go-to for photos is definitely Ivory Mix because you can browse photos by niche!
You can sign up for the newsletter and get some free photos to test the waters and then take a leap into the gorgeous photos they have to offer!
